 |
| another interest I'll sneak
in here, is my interest in amateur radio. I have a 2m radio in my Landy as well as a couple of handhelds
I carry when Hiking. |

| 2003 Dodge 3500 Dually - Cummins ! |
This is my camper hauler. Of course when the camper is not
on there, it's just plain fun ! it has the 300hp 550 ftlb torque Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine.
for a big truck, it is FAST ! what alot of fun to drive. |
 |
| We had originally purchased this 2003 Dodge 2500
with the Cummins engine for the camper, but the suspension wasn't up to the task. |
 |
| it was a nice truck though. |
 |
| this was a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder car. I never got a good dyno
of it, but I was able to pull a 13 second timeslip with it. being AWD made it lots of fun
year around here in Colorado. |
 |
| Oh, thats 13 seconds in Colorado. If you use the NHRA Altitude Correction, it would be a 12.88 @ 107mph |

My friends Mike and Steve and I went crazy on this car.
to name only a few of the things we changed, we upgraded the Turbo, Fuel system,
transmission, clutch, rear end, intake, exhaust, intercooler, radiator, brakes, suspension and more. It also had an SAFC so
you could adjust fuel settings on the fly, and a datalogger so I could use my laptop to keep an eye on things
while driving, if I wanted to. |
 |
| pretty isn't it? and potent ! |
 |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| no contest ;-) |
 |
| but I won't expect you to take my word for it. |
 |
I got this beautiful car from my good friend Mike.
It was a 1986 Mustang GT 5.0. and I bought it in 2001 with only 30K miles on it. |
 |
| this was a GREAT car, but terrible in the
snow, that is why I sold it and bought the Talon. |
 |
| the stock 5.0 - this is a great engine to modify |
 |
| |
 |
| 2001 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab 4x4 Limited |
| This was a great truck. shift on the fly
4wd with a 190hp 3.4 liter V6 engine. |
 |
| Be sure to read more about this truck
on my Car Audio pages ( the two amplifiers in the pic on the main page ) |
 |
| 190hp isn't bad. but since this was a TRD
truck, it only makes sense to install the TRD supercharger. I installed this in an afternoon
and although I didn't dyno mine, the consensus in the Taco Club is that this setup is good for about
270hp. MUCH more fun to drive ! |
 |
| 1993 Toyota Hilux Raider doublecab |
I had this truck while I was living
in South Africa. This had a 2.2 liter 4 cyl engine. I had the Brospeed
conversion done on it. Brospeed do Toyota Approved Engine Conversions. The Conversion
consists of Gas flowing the heads, Re-profiling the cam, a tuned and matched
Intake and exhaust manifold, and a fully tuned exhaust system. The conversion
takes the performance from 80kw ( 107hp )to 105kw ( 140hp )and 200nm of torque
@ 2250rpm to 218nm of torque at 3250rpm ( 205nm @ 2250rpm ).
I had fitted a Gearmax Difflock which is similar to the ARB Airlocker in that it
is enabled and disable by flicking a switch on the dash, except that where the ARB
requires and external air compressor to activate, the Gearmax uses engine vaccuum.
The beauty of this system over 'Lockers is that daily driving is not impacted at
all but when the switch is thrown it is fully locked and not just limited slip.
These Drive the 31 x 10.5 x 15 Rubber donuts. |
 |
This truck was awesome offroad.
I was a member of the South African 4x4 club and we went all over the place in this truck. |
 |
| Basslake is where we did Scuba Diving training. |

 |
| the Truck outside our house in Randburg |
 |
| this was my first vehicle when I got back to the
States. I've always loved V8's and 4x4s, so the older full sized Blazer made perfect sense. |
 |
Of course I hate to leave any vehicle alone.
Some of the things I modified on this truck are:
6" lift, custom driveshafts, 15x15.5x35" tires, hooker headers, flowmaster exhaust,
cb radio, gps and more. |
 |
| wheeee ! |
 |
| nice and muddy, as it should be. |
